T. Suriavelan (born 25 June 1992) is a Singaporean filmmaker, television director, actor, screenwriter, composer, lyricist, and producer. Primarily associated with the Tamil entertainment industry, he has established himself across feature films, television dramas, music videos, and digital productions. Recognized for his multidisciplinary approach to filmmaking, Suriavelan frequently undertakes multiple creative responsibilities within a single production, including directing, writing, producing, acting, composing, and lyric writing.

He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of 360 Entertainment Productions, a Singapore-based production company involved in feature films, television programming, music videos, advertisements, and digital entertainment.

Early life and education

T. Suriavelan was born on 25 June 1992 in Singapore to Tamil parents. Growing up in a culturally rooted Tamil household, he developed an early interest in storytelling, cinema, music, and the performing arts.

He completed a Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore. Although academically trained in engineering, he pursued a professional career in filmmaking and entertainment, combining technical knowledge with creative expression.

Career

Television

Suriavelan began his television journey through Mediacorp Vasantham productions and gradually established himself as a director, writer, producer, and actor.

In 2026, he wrote and directed Must Date the Playboy, a 28-episode coming-of-age romantic drama produced for Mediacorp Vasantham. The series was adapted from the Philippine novel of the same title written by Imma Delos Santos. Besides directing and writing the series, Suriavelan also composed and wrote the original songs Oru Murai and Thalli Pogura.

Prior to this, he directed, wrote, produced, and acted in Naam 2 (2022), a sequel to Naam (2020), where he similarly undertook multiple creative responsibilities. During the same period, he also created Mitara (2020), a six-episode romantic comedy produced under Singapore's Stories4SG initiative.

His directorial breakthrough came through Avathaaram (2019), which originated from Avathaaram (Pilot) developed under the Vasantham Muthal Paarvai initiative by Mediacorp Vasantham. The series received widespread audience appreciation and earned nominations in nine categories at the Pradhana Vizha 2021 awards, including Best Drama and Best Director. Suriavelan was also nominated for Most Popular Male Personality.

Besides directing the film, he also served as its writer, actor, producer, and lyricist. The independent Tamil feature achieved a sold-out screening at a 1,000-seat theatre and completed theatrical runs of 21 days in Singapore and 14 days in Malaysia.

Among the film's soundtrack, Saaral Mazhaiyaa received appreciation for its poetic lyrics written by Suriavelan.

Alongside filmmaking, Suriavelan has built a career as a composer, lyricist, and singer.
