Prof. Dr. Prakash Divakaran
Prof. Dr. Prakash Divakaran is an Indian academic leader, professor, entrepreneur, author, researcher, supply chain management professional, keynote speaker, and academic administrator. Born on 26 February 1973 in Kerala, India, he has developed a multidisciplinary career spanning industry, higher education, research, management, academic administration, and professional development. He currently serves as Vice-Chancellor of Himalayan University, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. His professional and academic interests include supply chain management, business administration, research methodology, economics, lean manufacturing, international business, total quality management, management information systems, automotive industry operations, employee engagement, job satisfaction, and organizational management.
Early Life and Education
Prof. Dr. Divakaran completed his schooling at CMS High School, Puthuppally, Kayankulam, Kerala. He pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Malayalam from MSM College, Kayankulam, followed by a Bachelor of Commerce from Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University, Bhopal.
He subsequently completed an MBA from Madurai Kamaraj University, an M.Com from Vinayaka Mission Sikkim University, and a PGDM in International Business Operations from Vinayaka Mission University, Salem. He also completed a PGDM in Supply Chain Management from Himalayan University, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
His further qualifications include a Diploma in Central Excise & Customs from the National Institute of Export Management, Chennai; an M.Phil. from Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management University; and a Ph.D. from Madurai Kamaraj University.
Professional Career
Dr. Divakaran began his professional career in the industrial sector as a Store-in-Charge and indirect taxation professional at TEK Electromechanicals Pvt. Ltd., where he worked for approximately eleven years. This experience provided a practical foundation in materials management, stores operations, taxation-related processes, procurement, and industrial supply chains.
He subsequently worked with TACO Hendrickson Pvt. Ltd. and TATA YAZAKI Pvt. Ltd. in roles associated with supply chain management. He also worked with Minda Industries Ltd. for approximately two years and later served as Deputy General Manager – Supply Chain Management at Polyrub Cooper Standard Pvt. Ltd.
In December 2018, he became Director and CEO of Infinite Global Research Conference Pvt. Ltd., Pune, where he contributed to academic conferences, research activities, professional development, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
He later assumed senior academic leadership responsibilities at Himalayan University, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, and currently serves as its Vice-Chancellor. His responsibilities encompass academic administration, institutional leadership, higher education development, research promotion, and academic activities.
